American Made Vintage Voiced 38 Watt Tube Amplifier

Inspired by the seminal JTM45, The M45 is ValveTrain Amplification’s take on the classic design with a few ValveTrain goodies thrown in for the modern player.  The M45 uses a beefier power supply but retains the Juju of the original spec JTM45 output transformer.

Just imagine if Ken and Jim had the availability of better parts when they were crafting the first Marshall amp… You’d have The M45!

Available in a head or combo, The M45 delivers a strong 38 watts of point to point hand wired 5881 power. Swap out the 5881’s and the M45 will take KT66 or 6L6GC power tubes allowing the player a variety of classic voices.

The Normal and Bright channels are internally “pre-jumpered” so that both preamp voices are able to be blended in order to get at those classic tones these baby’s are famous for!

The front panel consist of Normal and Bright volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, Governor and Presence Controls.

The Governor is a output power management control originally designed by Dennis Kager. ValveTrain is pleased to bring this control back to the market through a special arrangement with Dennis. The Governor can be completely switched out of the circuit enabling the full output from the power amp. Power reduction via the Governor is variable. The further the Governor is advanced the more the power is reduced. Once activated the Governor can variably tame the smoking 38 watts of dual 5881 power down to an apartment friendly 2 watts.

With all of the lush harmonics and rich touch sensitive tones of the early Tweed Bassman and JTM45 amps, The ValveTrain M45 takes the classic design to the next level with American made components including hand wound transformers from ClassicTone, custom crafted high grade aluminum chassis and eyelet boards.
