ValveTrain Trenton Pro
Buy Me NowAmerican Made 27 Watt – 2 Voice Amplifier
Designed in the tradition of the masters, the Trenton Pro features a pair of 12AX7 dual-triode preamp tubes driving the signal through a matched pair of cathode biased 6L6GC power tubes. Inspired by the simplicity of the amp designs of the 1960’s, the amp controls are Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass and the Governor.
To address the needs of today’s guitarist, the Trenton Pro boasts 2 distinct switchable voices through its hand-wired all tube circuit. The RAW switch disables the tone controls and takes you from the early 60’s black face era right to vintage tweed territory. The Bright switch adds glass and bite to the tone.
The Governor is a output power management control originally designed by Dennis Kager. ValveTrain is pleased to bring this control back to the market through a special arrangement with Dennis. The Governor can be completely switched out of the circuit enabling the full output from the power amp. Power reduction via the Governor is variable. The further the Governor is advanced the more the power is reduced. Once activated the Governor can variably tame the smoking 27 watts of dual 6L6GC power down to an apartment friendly 1 watt.
Using the various combinations of the Raw switches and the Governor, the player can access a pallet of tones that are inspired by the smaller amps of the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.
The Trenton Pro delivers a varied tonal spectrum from shimmering Black Face cleans through vintage Tweed crunch. A quick flick of the RAW switch and guitar volume knob controls the full range of the Trenton Pro’s voices. The Trenton Pro is great for home, studio or small venues. Put a microphone in front of it and it will fill the largest of venues.
Built with top shelf components, the Trenton Pro is the real deal.
